Moreno’s career began in karting and progressed through the junior ranks in Europe, where he won the 1988 International Formula 3000 Championship. He made his Formula 1 debut in 1982 and, over the years, drove for multiple teams, often as a “super sub” who filled in at short notice. His best F1 result came with Benetton in 1990, where he finished second at the Japanese Grand Prix. Despite facing frequent challenges in securing a stable F1 seat, Moreno was admired for his technical feedback and professionalism. After Formula 1, he competed successfully in IndyCar, achieving podium finishes and becoming a respected figure in American open-wheel racing.
